Coordination of all matters of economic planning for the Ministries.
Formulating plans and policies and devising methods for periodic reviews and examination of all such plans and Policies at the sectoral and sub-sectoral levels. These include among others the preparation of medium-term development plans and other policy documents. Pilot and issue Based Projects.
Coordination of the preparation and implementation of annual budgets of the Ministry.
Project/Programme development, monitoring, and evaluation in the overall socio-economic development of the Ministry;
Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on projects and program implementation in the Ministry and the local-Government Council viz-a-viz the overall annual budgets of the Ministry;
Serving as the Department responsible for enforcing "Due process" in the Ministry as it relates to Contract Procedures for Projects and Procurement.
Liaison with other State and National Agencies responsible for Economic Planning matters, including among others Directorate of Budget and Economics.
Planning, National Planning Commission, National Bureau for Statistics (Including its State Office), etc;
Constant collection and processing of data and statistics relating to socioeconomic Planning in the Ministry
Management of the Ministry Information resources (data bank, computer service, and library).
